Alila Hotels and Resorts will take its first step into Cambodia with its management of all-suite resort The Sothea in Siem Reap, which will now be rebranded Alila Sothea. The resort was opened in February 2009, and has architecture that blends contemporary design with Khmer-inspired detailing. Suites include the Deluxe and Royal Deluxe suites, the Queen suites, and the King Suites - the most luxurious option, ranging in size from 110 to 140 square metres, with a private garden or large balcony, private library and an in-suite spa area. Facilities at Alila Sothea include a spa, saltwater swimming pool, gym, and two restaurants that offer a blend of Khmer and French flavours. The resort also offers a range of packages, some of which even include private tours of the surrounding historical sites.
