Boeing announces 787 delivery date

Boeing has confirmed that its 787 Dreamliner will make its first delivery in the third quarter of this year. The plane manufacturer explained that a fire on a test flight last November was the cause of the latest delay. Scott Fancer, the Vice President of the 787 program, said the revised delivery date reflects and “accommodates the work we believe remains to be done to complete testing and certification of the 787.” The company will release further details and dates for their 2011 deliveries next week.
