British Airways is officially unfolding its new high-tech Gatwick home with the new £73 million extension added to its North Terminal. The technologically advanced building is designed to give customers more control over their journey. It aims to provide an innovative traveling experience using the most advanced technology and a new approach to customer service which will enable passengers to experience swift, smooth and stress free traveling. Passengers are now allowed to choose their own seats and print their own boarding cards and bag tags. Gatwick Airport chief executive, Stewart Wingate said proving a smoother check in experience has been a key priority. “It is a fantastic example of innovation and is evidence that they, like Gatwick, are putting the emphasis on delivering excellent customer-service for the passenger," he said. The first new route to operate from the new terminal will be the Mauritius service, which commences from early November.
