Cathay Pacific awarded best airport lounge

US guidebook publisher Frommers has awarded the world’s best airport lounge to The Wing, Cathay Pacific’s signature lounge in Hong Kong. The Wing was praised for offering superior and wide ranging facilities to first and business class passengers, such as individual bath and shower rooms with their own mini bar, a noodle restaurant, three bars, and “personal living spaces” fitted with a desk, soft chair and seat. The Wing came ahead of Virgin’s Upper Class Clubhouse at Heathrow London and Malaysian Airlines’ Satellite Golden Lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. In spite of this stamp of excellence, the lounge is currently going through a phased renovation, expected for completion in late 2012.
