| You may never ever get to meet Robert De Niro, but you can stay at his house, or rather his hotel, next time you’re in New York. Like a bunch of other celebs, he’s branched out into the hospitality industry. Here’s a list of celeb-owned luxury hotels and villas across the world. | |||||||
| Robert De Niro: The Greenwich Hotel (New York) | |||||||
| The Greenwhich contains 88 rooms and suites that are inspired by a various cultural influences from Italian to Swedish. Owned and opened by De Niro in 2008, it features modern technology and pet friendly rooms at no additional charge. It also has a Shibui spa and a pool enclosed in a 250-year-old Japanese bamboo farmhouse. De Niro likens the hotel to his house and said that comfort was a driving force behind the project. He hired acclaimed artists and decorators to help with the completion of the project and focused on making something basic, elegant. While staying here guests are likely to bump into other celebrity clientele including Mel Gibson. | |||||||

| Mick Jagger, Stargroves (Mustique, Caribbean) | |||||||
| Stargroves is a six bedroom, Japanese-style beachfront villa made up of six pavilions connected by elevated walkways that wind around the property’s shrubbery. The villa has an on-site tennis court, a large outdoor pool and hot tub, indoor and alfresco dining rooms, a games pavilion with a billiard table and a housekeeper, gardener and personal chef. Mick Jagger has rented it out to guests for approx $15,000 per night. The Rolling Stones must first approve your application for the villa, via a bio that you must create on yourself. | Benny Anderson, Rival Hotel (Stockholm, Sweden) | |||||||
| The Rival Hotel, owned by Benny Anderson from Abba, was Stockholm’s first boutique hotel when it opened in 2003. It is decorated in art-deco style influenced by Anderson’s work in the music industry. In every room there’s a copy of the famous Abba Gold album. On one of its seven floors is the movie theatre in which Mamma Mia debuted. The 700-seat auditorium is now a venue for conferences and film festivals. Every Friday the hotel hosts DJs - including Ulmox - until 1am. The hotel also has a restaurant, two bars and a pastry shop. | Keith Richards: Rocky Point Villa (Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos) | |||||||
| The Rolling Stones guitarist, who also lives at Parrot Cay, rents his villa there. All the villa’s whitewash and teak rooms face the sea. It has a private pool, day beds, sundecks and a personal butler who can babysit for you or arrange a celebration. To rent, it runs at US$8,100 a week in peak season, but US$4,500 from June through October. Many other stars visit the villas at Parrot Cay including Bruce Willis. | Founded in 2005 by Olivia Newton-John with partners Gregg Cave, Ruth Kalnin and Warwick Evans, Gaia is a health retreat with 20 rooms, a full-service spa, fresh, local, organic food, a fitness centre, tennis court and pool. Olivia Newton-John takes an active role in the running of the property and visits regularly for treatments. | Donatella Versace: Palazzo Versace (Queensland, Australia) Located on Queensland’s Gold Coast, Palazzo Versace is all things Versace. All the cutlery and china are Versace, rooms and corridors are lined with framed with photographic work from Donatello’s and Gianni’s collection and all the rooms are furnished with a special Versace range designed exclusively for the hotel by the House of Versace in Milan.
