Hilton Worldwide has announced the opening of Conrad Koh Samui in Thailand. This luxury villa resort is located on the secluded Aow Thai Beach on the Thai island. “This magnificent resort is the second of our Conrad properties to open in Thailand and caters to the needs of the ever increasing number of global, affluent travellers to this popular resort destination,” said Martin Rinck, president, Asia Pacific, Hilton Worldwide.

The Conrad Koh Samui luxury resort features 80 contemporary Thai-styled, freestanding villas with private plunge pools and sundecks. The property is broken down into 65 one-bedroom and 14 two-bedroom villas. Also included is the Royal villa, which is situated within 25 acres of tropical features and a cliff-side landscape.

The one-bedroom villas each feature 65 square metres of indoor living space and 28 square metres of outdoor living space with private 10-metre infinity plunge pools while the two-bedroom villas feature 186 square metres of indoor living space and 42 square metres of outdoor living space including a private 12-metre infinity plunge pool. The Royal Villa offers 201 square metres of indoor living space and 164 square metres of outdoor living space with a secluded 22.5-metre infinity pool.

The Conrad Koh Samui, located 28 kilometres from the airport, is west-facing and provides views of the sunset, the waters of the Gulf of Thailand and the resort’s white-sand beach from every villa. Each villa is furnished with tropical hardwood floors, Thai silk and unique artworks. They include full-height glass panes, and marble bathrooms that are fitted with spa-quality amenities, a glass–walled rain shower and an oversized bathtub. In-room technology is also provided, including a Satellite LCD flat-screen television, CD/DVD player, wired and wireless Internet connection, and an iPod docking station.

The resort’s spa focuses on therapies and holistic treatment. The programs and design of the spa were completed in collaboration with Dr. Thienarrom Buathon, one of Thailand’s leading authorities on holistic healing. Other features at the resort include an on-site diving and sailing centre, a 180-metre floating pier, a 24-hour fitness centre and an outdoor yoga pavilion.

In terms of dining, Conrad Koh Samui offers an array of restaurants including a private in-cellar dining at The Cellar, Thai cuisine at Jahn, a cliff-side speciality restaurant and a Mediterranean-inspired cuisine cooked from live action stations at Zest. Cocktails can also be enjoyed while watching the sunset at the Glow Lounge.
