Emirates A380 Set For Rome

Emirates has announced that its A380 aircraft will be flying daily to Rome, starting 1 December, 2011. The announcement followed Emirates’ A380 celebratory landing at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport on 6 June that marked its 50th anniversary, as well as 150 years of Italian unification. The airline hopes the scheduled daily flights will strengthen the economic and tourism ties between the UAE and Italy and Italy has demonstrated their commitment to the airline through the upgrade of airport infrastructure to accommodate the double-decker aircraft. Other destinations set to welcome the A380 this year include Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur and Munich.
