| This super lodge on the east coast of Tasmania is surrounded by a thriving agriculture and aquaculture industry producing some of the country’s finest food and wine. | CAPELLA LODGE | |||||
| Capella Lodge sits above the tiny Lover’s Bay beach on Lord Howe Island, 700 kilometres east of Sydney. The lodge has clear views over the Pacific Ocean from its position at the base of Mounts Gower and Lidgbird. Capella has only nine suites and is styled as a luxe beach house with washed wood, organic finishes and floor to ceiling windows bringing the outside in. Lord Howe Island is just 11 kilometres long and barely two kilometres wide at its widest point. It is World Heritage Listed with around 75 per cent of the island permanently preserved as a marine park and subtropical rainforest. The island is encircled by the world’s southernmost coral reef, created 700 million years ago by a massive volcanic eruption. | Australia’s northernmost island beach resort, Lizard Island is 240 kilometres north of Cairns on the Great Barrier Reef. The island is a national park with 24 powder white beaches and a lagoon. | SAL SALIS NINGALOO REEF | |||||
| Sal Salis is a luxury safari camp in the Cape Range National Park sand dunes in Western Australia. The nine wilderness tents are metres from the water’s edge on the Ningaloo Coast, the world’s newest World Heritage Listed Area. The tents are designed to be open to the elements and, while not five-star hotel rooms in the desert, they offer creature comforts like comfortable beds, ensuite bathrooms, plush linens and attentive hosts. Unlike many fringing reefs, the Ningaloo Reef starts straight off the beach and stretches nearly 20 kilometres out to sea, covering a total of 5,000 square kilometres.
