First stage of new Hilton Surfers Paradise opens

The first stage of the newly built, A$700 million Hilton Surfers Paradise, which will house a Hilton Hotel, opened in late December. Called the Boulevard Tower, it comprises 134 residential one, two and three bedroom apartments across 32 floors and is managed by Hilton Worldwide. The tower features an indoor lap pool and spa, sauna, gymnasium, barbecue pavilion and boutique shopping mall. The second stage Orchid Tower is set to open in late 2011 and will feature a 169-room Hilton Hotel as well as further residential apartments. The Hilton Surfers Paradise is the brand’s ninth Australian property and the first combination hotel and residences in the country. It is the first global upscale hotel to be built on the Gold Coast since 2000 and its two distinctive curved towers offer views of the ocean, hinterland and city.
