Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has just announced that they are adding a new cruise liner to their luxury fleet. The EUROPA 2 will sail alongside the existing EUROPA ship and as such, will enhance options for luxury travellers. The EUROPA 2 will undergo construction in September this year, and will be ready for its first journey in 2013. It has been designed as a modern, 5-star ship with 258 cabins and a passenger capacity of 516 people. Along with the EUROPA, it will offer weeklong cruises in the Mediterranean during summer as well as other destinations in winter. Managing Director of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, Sebastian Ahrens, says that the EUROPA 2 will be representative of “the standards we have set in the luxury segment of the international cruise market.”
