A new lift due to open this winter will connect two of Italy’s top ski resorts. Leading Italian ski resort Madonna di Campiglio will be linked to the smaller Pinzolo resort and village. Previously the only method of travel was by bus. The project includes two new eight-person gondolas and a quad chairlift, as well as two new ski runs, one with a 1,000 metre (3,300 feet) vertical and the other 600 metres (20,000 feet). The luxurious snow park will be expanded significantly to 70,000 square metres. The park already has 57 lifts and 150 km of ski runs and will also feature 300 ski instructors and three snowboard parks.
Madonna di Campiglio already uses an advanced lift network system which includes a remote ski pass reading system to cut queuing times at lift.
