The Australian Competition Consumer Commission (ACCC) has authorised a new three year commercial partnership between the Virgin Blue Group and both Etihad Airways and Air New Zealand. The partnership, which was cleared by the ACCC on a conditional basis, is expected to benefit the tourism industry by boosting capacity between Australia, the Middle East and New Zealand while establishing V Australia as the country’s second international carrier. The airlines could now take a coordinated approach to pricing, routes, schedules and revenue management.
