Sofitel London St James opened a new restaurant this week. Known as ‘The Balcon’, it is located at the centre of Mayfair near Buckingham Palace. It was designed in collaboration with Russell Sage Studios and Gorgeous Group. It includes a custom-made charcuterie bar, tasting table, private dining room and a Champagne Balcony. It also features the ‘St James Bar’ which was inspired by Coco Chanel’s 1920’s Paris apartment. There are also two oak spiral staircases with a tasting table situated underneath. Head Chef, Vincent Menager, provides a combination of French and British cuisine. The restaurant will be available from breakfast till dinner. Afternoon tea, cocktails and savories are also provided. Bar Manager, Mathieu Bruno, created the cocktail list which includes cocktails from antique recipe books.
