One of Sydney's most luxurious hotels, the Park Hyatt has announced its largest renovation in its 20-year history. Three luxury rooftop suites will be added as part of the multi-million-dollar project, along with a complete makeover of the guest rooms. Redecorated in chocolate, cream and beige tones, the rooms will receive new fittings and finishes, custom-designed contemporary lighting and new furniture, all the better to show off artwork by Australian artists. The hotel's restaurant and bars, day spa and recreational areas will also all receive a facelift as part of the new design, developed by interior designers BARstudio. With a nod to the environment, energy-efficient lighting and water-saving initiatives will also be implemented. The upgrade is scheduled for winter 2011 to minimise disruption to guests.
