Due to recent low temperatures and snowfalls NSW’s Perisher ski resort will kick off its winter season three weeks ahead of schedule. Perisher will open its Snowy Mountain Front Valley slopes today with other slopes following on June 11, the official start of the season. "We are thrilled to ... be opening the resort way ahead of time," Perisher chief executive Peter Brulisauer said on Tuesday in a statement. Current temperatures at Perisher Valley are approximately 5.7 degrees during the day.
