Planet Restaurant opens at Cape Town’s Mount Nelson Hotel

While the Mount Nelson Hotel’s dining hall is over 100 years old it still looks out-of-this-world thanks to Cape Town’s new Planet Restaurant. The eatery comes with a walkway tiled in Swarowski crystals and black mosaic and features a carpet of finely woven galaxies. The Hotel’s classic architecture is set off by Planet Restaurant’s warm, white hues that help the space feel airy and light while the ceiling incorporates stars and chandeliers. Planet Restaurant hosts everything from intimate dinners to semi al fresco dining in the Conservatory. Chef Rudi Liebenberg is responsible for the menu, which is all about flavour and experimentation. Dishes include rooibos cured ostrich and crayfish ceviche with Namibian red crab remoulade.
