PLATINUM ONE TAKES OFF FOR QANTAS

Platinum One takes off for Qantas - Luxury Travel Magazine

Qantas has announced a new initiative for loyal customers. Known as Platinum One, it is an exclusive status that can be gained according to flight activity. This is in subsequent to earning Frequent Flyer points.

This initiative will only be available for a chosen group of the airline’s most faithful customers. The first Platinum One member will be notified by the 7th of November 2011. Inclusion in the program is based on flight activity throughout the year prior to the 1st November 2011. Once received, membership will be assessed during the year it was obtained.

This initiative was created based on feedback from Platinum members. Simon Hickey, Qantas Frequent Flyer Chief Executive Officer, said Platinum One is going to provide a variety of benefits, including flight upgrade awards, monitoring of travel experience and complimentary membership of their food and wine club. An SMS will also be sent to notify Platinum One members of their flight times.

In addition to this program, Qantas has also announced various improvements to Flight Upgrade awards. These include International service and the ability to register for a Flight Upgrade Award up to 24 hours before departure.
