Qantas A380 update

An international check of 45 Airbus A380 engines built by Rolls-Royce cleared Qantas’ existing A380s yet uncovered a new problem in the airlines’ undelivered superjumbos. The problem, which affected three Trent 900 engines, appears to confirm that a batch of faulty oil pipes were unevenly bored during manufacturing. The delivery of the superjumbo, initially due before Christmas, is now on hold while Rolls-Royce and Airbus replaced the engines in question. Trent 900 engines on Qantas’ A380s with the latest "C" modification are believed to be defect-free.
