Qantas aims to resume flights Airbus A380 flights on the lucrative Sydney/Melbourne to Los Angeles route in two weeks pending approval from Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority, CASA. Qantas resumed flights from Australia to London via Singapore on the A380s in November after exhaustive engine checking but have been reluctant to resume the 13-hour Australia-LAX route, which requires the aircrafts to carry a greater load of fuel thus making them heavier on takeoff than other routes.
