Over 90 per cent of Qantas services between the Australian east coast and Perth will now be operated with wide-bodied aircraft and continue to provide the highest schedule frequencies. Qantas will operate internationally configured Boeing 747 on flights between Sydney and Perth as well as increasing the number of internationally configured A330 aircraft on the route. The introduction of the 747s means business class travellers will have access to the Qantas lie-flat 'Skybed' on domestic flights. Four new services catering to the Melbourne to Perth market at key business times have already been introduced in April. Sydney to Perth via B747-400 aircraft will operate six round trips per week from today and internationally configured A330 services will also be boosted from three round trips per week to five. Domestic A330 services will be introduced from Brisbane to Perth in July on seven round trips per week. From July, the daily service from Brisbane to Perth will be upgraded from a B767 to an A330 aircraft.
