Qantas to increase trans-Tasman fares

Qantas have announced domestic, trans-Tasman airfare prices will increase by up to 5 per cent from the end of February 2011. They claim airfare costs need to be revised for the company to recover from significant economic loss following soaring fuel and oil costs. Qantas Chief Executive Officer Alan Joyce says the price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil is at its highest and says further increases are not out of the question if prices continue to grow.
