| Repairs to the damaged aircraft, named the Nancy Bird-Walton after the famous Australian aviatrix, will begin in the next few weeks in Singapore, where the aircraft has been grounded since the engine explosion on November 4, 2011. The repairs have been estimated to cost up to A$150m, and Qantas expects the aircraft to be returned to Australia by the end of 2011. |
