| Sir Richard Branson has announced that Makepeace Island, Branson’s exclusive home in Noosa on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, will be occasionally offered to other guests for private lease. Up until now Makepeace has existed as a private retreat for family and friends of Sir Richard Branson and Brett Godfrey (co-founder of Virgin Blue, now Virgin Australia). Located minutes downstream from Noosa Heads, the 25-acre authentic Balinese-built property offers luxurious accommodation for up to 22 guests. Designed for privacy and environmental sensitivity in protecting the unique coastal habitat, the property sits on a heart shaped island in the Noosa River. Guests can experience luxury accommodation and facilities at Makepeace Island as it has its own riverboat to transfer guests to and from the Island, a full sized tennis court and pavilion, spa facilities, theatre, a two-storey open aired Balinese wantilan for relaxation, lagoon pool, office facilities and indoor bar for entertaining on a grand scale. Other features are the expansive gardens and Balinese style decor and furnishings that include giant indoor sculptures, teak, granite and stone finishings, volcanic boulder bathtubs, ornamental lighting and antiquities. Makepeace Island’s new website is live from today and will be offered on an exclusive, whole of island basis – www.makepeaceisland.com |
