Six Senses Resorts & Spas (SSR) will invest US$45 million to build its first project in Sri Lanka. The dual project includes the construction of Six Senses Before Galle across 10.5 acres on the southern coast and the low-impact hotel Six Senses Meeraladuaa on a 27-acre island nearby. The new resorts are due to open in late 2012. The average room rate is expected to be between US$400-450 (around A$405-$A456). SSR plans to base its Indian Ocean Regional Headquarters in Sri Lanka in order to expand in the region.
