Sofitel So launches in Mauritius

Sofitel’s first hotel under its Sofitel So label has been officially launched in Mauritius. The resort will soon be followed by the opening of Sofitel So Bangkok in mid 2011, and later the Sofitel So Mumbai. Sofitel commissioned leading Thai architect Lek Bunnag and renowned fashion designer Kenzo Takada to design a five-star hotel that captured the contemporary essence of the new label. The resort is located on a previously untouched 14-hectare property that borders a 520-metre beach. Guests can stay in one of the 84 suites (60 square metres in size), six Beach Villas (100 square metres) or two Beaulieu Villas (200 square metres). Each suite and villa is freestanding and secluded with private gardens, and patios with outdoor showers. The villas also feature an outdoor pond or pool. The resort also boasts an onsite spa. Prices start from A$630 per night for a suite.
