Sofitel Luxury Hotels has opened Sunrich, it’s first hotel in southern China’s largest city Guangzhou. As Sofitel’s twentieth address in China, the hotel has a total of 493 rooms and suites, five bars and restaurants, a day spa and a fitness centre. Conveniently located in Guangzhou’s most dynamic financial district, Tianhe, the hotel is also ideal for business people with 17 meeting rooms and a 900 square metre conference room. CEO of Sofitel Worldwide Robert Gaymer-Jones has noted the cultural importance of the hotel, saying, “The goal of this address is to become the meeting place for the city’s cultural events and especially through all forms of Art.” Through the décor of the rooms, the food and dining experience and even the L’Occitane product based day spa, Sunrich aims to merge French culture with Chinese roots.
