Sheraton and Westin have announced plans to expand their portfolios of hotel spas across Asia and the Middle East in the coming year. Sheraton will increase its portfolio by almost 50 per cent, adding 10 Shine Spas, while Westin will open six new Heavenly Spas, increasing its portfolio by nearly 20 per cent. These in-house spas will open in existing and new hotels, including The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa and the Sheraton Beijing Dongcheng Hotel. The Shine Spa for Sheraton debuted in 2010 and aims to cater for business and leisure travellers who value luxury, but not the pretence that accompanies it, while the Heavenly Spa by Westin focuses on treatments aimed at mind-body wellness and revitalisation.
