Starwood announces Sheraton Melbourne agreement

Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced its agreement with the Golden Age Development Group to operate a Sheraton Hotel in Melbourne. The move will strengthen Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ presence in Australia, and the 170-room hotel is expected to open in 2013. The property will be part of Melbourne’s 27 Little Collins development project and will be located within the 31 storey “wavilinear” building, which will feature an indoor heated swimming pool, fitness centre and signature restaurant and bar. Sheraton Hotels already operate in Sydney, Queensland and Fiji.
