Taj Cape Town Officially Inaugurated

Joint venture partners Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces and city developers Eurocape spent two years and US$69 million restoring the original South African Reserve Bank and Temple Chambers buildings to house the hotel. Inaugurated on 28 August, the hotel is located in the historic centre of Cape Town near the Houses of Parliament, City Hall, the Slave Lodge and St George's Mall. The 177 guest rooms feature classic interiors by Singaporean designers James Park and Associates, with marble bathrooms, original wooden panelling and large sash windows. The hotel features three restaurants and bars, serving contemporary Indian, grills and seafood. The Jiva Grande Spa features all-organic products and there is also a fully-equipped, modern Techno gym.
