Following months of renovation, the new 200-seater lounge, designed by renowned architect Tim Greer, is the airline’s first attempt to overhaul the entire Virgin Australia Brisbane domestic terminal. Virgin Australia Group Executive Product and Guest Services Representative, Martin Daley, said the new lounge was an important part of the company’s plan to create a streamlined first-rate travel experience for guests. “Together with the redesigned interiors of the airline’s Boeing 737 fleet and the Airbus A330…the new lounges are helping us change the game in Australian travel and bring the magic back to flying.” The lounge takes its design cues from Virgin’s Melbourne Airport Lounge, with a bright and contemporary feel and modern, high comfort furnishings. Features of the Brisbane lounge include various purpose-built spaces, such as quiet zones for informal meetings, the central lounge space, a lounge library and an all-hours food and barista service. Virgin Australia launched the lounge program in May 2006, and now has six lounges in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane domestic terminals.
