Virgin Blue V Australia has launched its first flight to Abu Dhabi. The flight will depart from Sydney three times a week. The move marks closer ties between the Virgin Blue Group and Etihad Airlines and the partnership will see a total of 27 weekly services between Abu Dhabi and Australia. The new flight line will give travellers increased access to more than 100 destinations across Europe, UK and the Middle East with one-stop connections. There will now be a twice-daily service to London as well as daily services to Frankfurt, Dublin and Manchester. Travellers will be eligible to receive both velocity and Etihad Guest frequent flyer programs. By February 2012, Virgin Blue will start three weekly Brisbane to Abu Dhabi services.
