Best spot for a holiday?
One of the best holiday experiences I’ve had was on a safari in the Kruger National Park in Africa. I saw so many animals and got to take some spectacular photos and got up so close! The food was incredible and the people were lovely and hospitable.
What destinations have provided you with inspiration for your Isola range of swimwear?
Italy and the Amalfi Coast, South America, and beautiful, exotic islands such as Tahiti and Fiji.
What is the most luxurious destination in the world?
I have had the pleasure of staying at a few – some of the resorts I stayed at in Tahiti were so stunning, especially Le Taha’a Island Resort and Spa and Le Meridien Bora Bora. Tahiti is up there high on the list as my favourite location in the world. The resorts are beautiful and the people are lovely.
What do you always pack for a trip?
Isola silk pants for the plane, a couple of swimsuits, passport, laptop, camera, sunscreen and exercise gear are the key essentials but I always end up overpacking in general.
You’ve spent a lot of your working life living in Italy – can you tell me your favourite place to visit there and what you like to do?
This is a hard one as there are so many locations in Italy that I love – but if I have to pick one, it’s Rome. There’s so much to do and it’s so beautiful. I would suggest a walking tour of Rome’s historic destinations: The Vatican, St. Peter’s Chapel, the Colosseum, The Trevi Fountain – the list goes on and on and the food is out of this world!
What is your favourite type of international food?
Japanese and Italian although I’m discovering Vietnamese cuisine and I love it.
What’s your favourite place in Australia to visit and why?
There are so many places in Australia that I love to holiday at, such as Byron Bay and Broome, but number one for me is home to Perth to visit my family.
Do you have a preferred airline that you like to travel with?
I adore flying with Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Air New Zealand and of course, Qantas.
What do you always do when you arrive at a destination?
I try to unpack, settle in immediately and create my little home away from home. Then I freshen up by having a shower and changing clothes.
Where’s somewhere you haven’t been that you’d love to visit?
Banff in Canada. My boyfriend [AFL player Shaun Hampson] has been and says it’s spectacular.
What’s your favourite thing about home?
Getting to sleep in your own bed. I always sleep better in my own bed.
