Modern opulence

Recently opened in Ho Chi Minh (formerly Saigon) is new luxury hotel The Reverie Saigon in the city’s central business hub. The lavish 62 suites and 224 guest rooms are furnished by some of Italy’s finest design houses – Visionnaire, Provasi, Giorgetti and Colombo Stile. More Italian influence is found in the dining options, with the kitchen headed by a Michelin Italian chef overseeing five restaurants aimed to create a new level of fine dining in Vietnam. The five restaurants include Royal Pavilion (Cantonese) and R&J Italian Lounge and Restaurant.

The hotel, designed by architect and lead interior designer Kent Lui, overlooks Ho Chi Minh’s colonial French architecture and the Saigon River. All guest rooms make the most of the view with floor-to-ceiling windows. Interiors were designed to have a modern, sophisticated and classically European aesthetic.

After a busy day taking in the city’s sights and Vietnamese culture, guests can relax in the outdoor pool, 1,200-square-metre spa and fitness centre. Also available to hotel guests is a fleet of luxury vehicles to transport them around the city for the duration of their stay. Among the collection is the only Rolls-Royce Phantom in Vietnam.

Room rates start from US$450 (about A$551) per night and suites from US$800 (about A$979), including breakfast, Wi-Fi and minibar
