Anantara has announced the brand’s first foray into Europe with the opening of Anantara Vilamoura on Southern Portugal’s Algarve coast, 15 minutes from Faro International Airport. The 280-room resort offers views of the property’s expansive pool and gardens as well as the nearby Oceanico Golf Course, while the interiors feature unique design pieces from local artisans from the TASA project. Guests staying in the resort’s 17 Anantara Suites will have exclusive access to the resort’s indoor pool and sauna, as well as an in-room wine humidor, pillow menu and butler service.
The property’s six bar and dining venues include wine focussed restaurant EMO which matches local wines with classic dishes; Marisqueria-style seafood bistro Ria; all day dining buffet Victoria; both a general and an adults-only pool bar and the Anantara Bar and Lounge which serves pre- or post-dinner drinks accompanied by live traditional Fado music.
The resort also offers a range of experiences including a private visit to a local vineyard; a market visit and cooking class; golfing experiences at the adjacent Oceanico Golf Course; guided tours of the local area and a Dining By Design experience whereby guests enjoy a specially selected wine-matched menu in an idyllic setting with their own personal chef and butler.
