Pier One launches plunge pool in Sydney Harbour

The pool is open to the public and entry includes a drink, towel and access to paddle boards and water bikes.

Pier One Sydney Harbour has become one of the only hotels in the city to offer pool access to non-guests. Nestled at the base of the iconic Harbour Bridge, their newly launched plunge pool is a similar concept to Sydney favourite The Island Bar; a floating pontoon with a protected pool area that allows guests to swim safely in the harbour water. The pool is open to the public (and hotel guests) for a $30 entry fee which includes an alcoholic beverage, a towel and access to luxury pool toys and water equipment including a paddle board and water bike which can be used to cycle out into the harbour.

In between swims, guests can pull up a deck chair and sip retro-inspired cocktails while well-known DJs serve up summer tunes from the pontoon's DJ booth. Pier One’s food shack and on-site smoker The Kerrigan will also provide Aussie summer fare including burgers, spiced calamari rings and fried Chook Wings.

The pool will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons until sunset from December to February and is also available for private bookings of up to 30 people. The pontoon has a limited capacity and entry is on a first come, first served basis so it’s best to stake out your spot early.
