New Antarctica itineraries

Australian owned tour company Chimu Adventures has launched a new collection of Antarctica itineraries that will see guests journey though the region’s inner remote areas.

The 18-day Shackelton’s Antarctica tour takes guests on a private charter from Argentina through the Drake Passage, Antarctica Peninsula, Elephant Island and through South Georgia and the Falkland Islands on an exceptional wildlife spotting expedition. While the Interior Antarctic Experiences tour will fly adventurers to an emperor penguin rookery where they will set up camp for several days.

Australian author Peter FitzSimons will accompany travellers on the 11-day Frozen Frontier fundraising voyage, a joint initiative of not-for-profit group MAD Project that will see proceeds from berth sales donated to charity. FitzSimons will host special lectures and trivia nights on board with itinerary highlights including a sail through Deception Island – the caldera of an active volcano and day excursions on Antarctic land.

2017 will also see the launch of the company’s Antarctica in a day journey. A 12.5 hour sightseeing flight that departs from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
