The brand new Vista Palazzo Lago di Como is Como’s first five-star hotel, its arrival heralding a new level of luxury for the ancient city overlooking beautiful Lake Como
Vista Palazzo Lago di Como has opened in the ancient city of Como, Italy, making it the historic town’s first five star hotel. Situated in a stunning 19th century Venetian-style Palazzo that has long been one of the most photographed structures on Lake Como, the hotel is the result of an extensive, 18-month renovation, and is the latest project by family owned and operated Italian hotel group Lario Hotels, who own three other hotels in Lake Como.
Vista combines a convenient central position next to the lively Piazza Cavour, the historical main square of Como, with an exclusive lakefront location offering sweeping views of world famous Lake Como from the windows and balconies of the 18 hotel rooms and suites. Characterised by an upmarket ambiance, the rooms showcase the best in Italian craftsmanship, with intricate hand-hewn marquetry of the rich indigenous wooden floors; the use of resplendent Dedar fabrics and the incorporation of five different kinds of Italian marble. Every room and suite features a soaking tub and a separate shower, wth many even featuring walk-in closets.
An entire floor of the Hotel is devoted to leisure with an exclusive rooftop restaurant, Ristorante Sottovoce, available exclusively for guests of the hotel, and the charming and spectacular Infinity Bar, offering special drinks inspired by the Lake Como area. There is also The Library, where guests can relax or meet for business, with five star spa treatments, private chef-made meals and personal concierges also available to hotel guests.
Taking the luxury a step further, guests can indulge in the services of a personal shopper, who can escort them through retail attractions in Como or further afield to Milan or Lugano in Switzerland. Sight-seeing options are also available on Lake Como, with tours via both Riva speed boats and seaplanes, which can be arranged through the hotel’s concierge.
In a particularly unique move for a Lake Como hotel, Vista Palazzo will also be open year-round. “We’ve been careful to differentiate it from the other five-star hotels around the lake by making more private space available to our guests with all accommodations measuring from 340 to 590 square feet and by keeping Vista Palazzo open year round, while the others close November through March,” Luigi Passera, co-CEO of Vista Palazzo Lago di Como said.
Vista Palazzo Lago di Como is now open for bookings, with Deluxe double rooms starting from €695 per night.
