The new QT will be the first in South Australia and the 11th hotel under the QT brand

Event Hospitality & Entertainment limited (EVENT), the company behind QT Hotels & Resorts, has announced that its newest QT will be built in Adelaide in the heart of the CBD in 2021. The hotel will be located at 161 Currie Street, a site owned by Auspac Networks Pty Ltd and Joint Ventured with Axiom Properties Limited.

The $180 million development will be Adelaide’s first lifestyle hotel, ideally located in a premier entertainment precinct that is known for its hip small bars and exceptional restaurants.

In typical QT style, the new hotel will be design-led and and will feature 200 guest rooms, extensive conference facilities and event halls along with QT’s bold, signature dining concepts and a sweeping rooftop bar, designed to reflect and complement the local community.

The development will also include 10 levels of unique office space designed for employers and employees with features based on the “work, stay, play” philosophy. The design – always with a hint of quirk, a hallmark of the QT brand – will be led by interior designer and QT collaborator Nic Graham

“We are excited to bring South Australia its very first QT Hotel, a key Australian market that has been a missing piece of our portfolio,” said EVENT CEO Jane Hastings. “Our new partnership with Auspac Networks Pty Ltd and Axiom Properties Limited will ensure a QT experience that will be a transformative project for the city of Adelaide.”

Paul Rouvray, General Manager AXIOM Properties added: “…the opportunity was compelling to seamlessly blend a world-class lifestyle hotel offering including conference and event facilities with a new generation, unique office experience as well as the incredible wine and dine experiences and rooftop bar.  The collaboration between all stakeholders in this project will drive an exceptional vision and outcome for this project.”

QT already has hotels around Australia and New Zealand and is on a strong growth trajectory, with QT Queenstown opening in December 2017 and QT Perth in July 2018. QT Auckland is scheduled to open in 2020, followed shortly by QT Parramatta and QT Adelaide in 2021.

Construction on the QT Adelaide is likely to commence by the end of 2019.
