In a first for Uniworld Boutique River Cruises, the luxury tour company has announced its first Cruise and Rail journey through India.

A successful Cruise and Rail itinerary in Europe has prompted Uniworld Boutique River Cruises to create its first immersive journey through India.

The luxury river cruise company has partnered with Maharajas’ Express to offer a new 16-day immersive journey through India titled, Cruise & Rail: The Sacred Ganges & The Maharajas’ Express.

The trip will combine seven nights’ sailing onboard the Ganges Voyager II from Kolkata, with a seven-night luxury private train journey through the Golden Triangle and Rajasthan to Mumbai, spending an additional two nights in Oberoi Hotels in New Delhi and Mumbai.

Guests will visit icons of the country such as the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort and Ranthambore National Park – home to one of the world’s largest populations of Bengal Tiger. In addition, local encounters, such as stopping at smaller temples and villages along the way are also weaved throughout the itinerary, including four MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences to learn the artistry of making ornamental brass objects at an artisan workshop in Matiari, and a visit to a local NGO, Calcutta Rescue, which works to help underprivileged children in the region.

The 16-day journey will depart on 28 October, 2023. Rates start from A$29,589 per person, double occupancy.
