Legendary Carlton Cannes to reopen under Regent Hotels & Resorts

The Regent Hotels & Resorts portfolio is expanding in Asia Pacific and beyond, with the opening of Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel.

Sitting along the iconic beachfront La Croisette promenade of Cannes, France, the famous Carlton Cannes hotel will reopen in early 2023 following a two-year multi-million-dollar redevelopment.

Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel will form part of the new generation of Regent Hotels & Resorts as the brand, part of IHG’s Luxury & Lifestyle Collection, returns.

The hotel, which appeared in several scenes of the 1955 Alfred Hitchcock classic To Catch a Thief, starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant, features 332 rooms and 37 branded residences, designed by French interior designer Tristan Auer.

The design team behind the extensive renovation program sought to preserve the hotel’s historic features, including its legendary façade, whilst creating a modern-day masterpiece that echoes the design philosophy of new Regent Hotels & Resorts.

Known as the ‘Grande Dame’ of Cannes’ hotel offerings, the property’s majestic Belle Époque façade, framed by twin domes, occupies the frontage of an entire city block.

The growth of Regent Hotels & Resorts, since acquired by IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2018, continues with the opening earlier in 2022 of Regent Phu Quoc in Vietnam, set on the waterfront alongside Long Beach.

In 2023, Regent Bali Canggu in Bali will open, offering guests luxury villa and suite stays that are infused with local design; while Regent Hong Kong on Victoria Harbour will return to its roots as a Regent Hotel, designed in collaboration with Chi Wing Lo, BarStudio as well as Deesign49.
