On the heels of opening a second Maldivian resort in October, the luxury hotel brand brings its all-inclusive formula to Tanzania with the opening of Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa.
The Emerald Collection has opened a new resort on the northeast coast of Zanzibar, set on the coastline overlooking the Indian Ocean and surrounded by tropical jungle. Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa is the first luxury resort on the African continent from the hotel group, which is known for its elevated, all-inclusive hospitality offering.
The all-suite resort, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, has 250 accommodations, with gourmet a la carte dining, international wines, beers, and spirits, and access to non-motorised water sports and a diving centre included with each stay.
Four dining concepts include the all-day international restaurant Aqua; the Beach Club, serving lunch on the sand; South American-themed Carnivorous; and a live Teppanyaki Grill.
Guests can explore their remote environment, with the pristine Mnemba Island and a coral reef, designated as a marine conservation area, directly in front of the resort. At the five-star Diving Centre, visitors are guided by trained divers to discover marine life such as bottlenose dolphins, lionfish, and bannerfish.
“We are thrilled by the arrival of Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa. This is an essential project for The Emerald Collection, in which we have invested tens of millions of euros to build a new resort in line with the standards of excellence of the brand,” comments Aldo Scarapicchia, The Emerald Collection Partner and Managing Director. “The property offers only suites and is the ideal starting point for guests looking to discover an incredible natural coral reef, just as beautiful as that of the Maldives, and the natural park on Mnemba Island.”
Emerald Zanzibar Resort & Spa debuted just two months after the collection’s second Maldivian resort, Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa, opened its doors. The boutique resort complements Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, which opened in 2019.
