Those transiting in Doha can experience a new lounge concept, with the opening of the Louis Vuitton Lounge by Yannick Alléno at Hamad International Airport.

The lounge, which is part of an ongoing partnership between the French luxury maison and the acclaimed chef, is situated above the Louis Vuitton store in Qatar Duty Free. Open 24 hours, it provides a relaxing lounge space with a focus on an elevated culinary offering developed by Alléno.

The chef, who was recognised in the latest Michelin Guide with three stars for both his eponymous Alléno Paris at the Pavillon Ledoyen, and Le 1947 at Cheval Blanc Courchevel, has created an expansive menu drawing on global influences, made to highlight local ingredients. Parisian viennoiseries, baked goods, and eggs are served alongside pastries and sandwiches — some embellished with Louis Vuitton’s signature motif — for breakfast and brunch; while all-day dining takes the form of upscale, contemporary plates such as langoustine carpaccio with geranium essence, confit lamb shoulder flavoured with yuzu, and pilaf rice with dried fruit and spices.

“The menu is complex because, above all, it should please everyone”, said Alléno.

Design notes

Airy and inviting, the lounge is accessed through the Al Mourjan Business Lounge — The Garden. A tropical setting sets the scene at the entrance — lush greenery is accented with the maison’s stacked trunks, while vibrant Quetzal bird creations by atelier oï are suspended overhead.

Designer furnishings inside the lounge include low tables by India Mahdavi, Paola Lenti high tables, and Costela armchairs by Martin Eisler. Other pieces such as the Cosmic Table by Raw Edges and Bell Lamps by Edward Barber and Jay Osgery further enhance the dynamic design. Tableware includes Studio Louis Vuitton twist glasses in a variety of colours.
