The annual Taste Port Douglas food festival is set to bring together acclaimed chefs and food enthusiasts from around Australia to the tropical surrounds of Far North Queensland in August.

Foodies will flock to Far North Queensland for the seventh edition of Taste Port Douglas, 10–13 August, which brings together some of Australia’s celebrated culinary minds for a long weekend of all things food and drink.

Showcasing the best of the region’s tropical produce through partnerships with local suppliers and restaurants, 20 chefs and industry professionals will offer a program of immersive events. Highlights include an outdoor live fire cooking dinner, Night of Fire x Flames of the Forest, by Bente Grysbaek (Bente, Vic) and Ben Williamson (Anges, sAme sAme, Honto, Qld), with paired wines from South Australia’s The Other Wine Co; and La Dolce Vita, a celebration of Italian cuisine with a three-course, feasting-style luncheon by Massimo Mele (Grain of the Silos, Peppina, Tas), Laura and Max Sharrad (Nido Bar & Pasta, SA), and Aaron Ward (Shell House, NSW).

The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort will host a Sunset Session with a live DJ set from Café del Mar DJ, Beth Yen, and an all-inclusive dinner package; while the final day of the festival will see live cooking demonstrations from chefs such as Matt Preston and Jerry Mai take place at the Sheraton Festival Village.

Masterclasses throughout the weekend will offer attendees the chance to discover more about their favourite flavours, with topics like the art of cheese, the allure of the truffle, and caviar & champagne.

A VIP Lounge is set to offer complimentary canapés and snacks, a dedicated bar, and Culinary Conversations with live guest chefs, hosted by Graeme Twine.
