Cunard partners with acclaimed chef, Michel Roux

The legendary culinary mind, whose two-Michelin-starred Le Gavroche is a London fine-dining institution, will create new menus for the Queen’s Grill restaurant and Golden Lion pub aboard Cunard’s new ship, Queen Anne.

As Cunard’s new cruise ship Queen Anne inches closer to her maiden voyage in May 2024, the British cruise liner has announced a partnership with acclaimed chef, Michel Roux.

The chef is renowned for this two-Michelin-starred restaurant Le Gavroche in London and has consulted on culinary concepts for luxury travel brands including the upscale Wigmore pub at The Langham.

Roux will work alongside Cunard’s culinary development chefs to create a gala menu for the ship’s Queen’s Grill restaurant, as well as a new menu for the ship’s pub concept, the Golden Lion.

The menu at the Golden Lion will include refined pub favourites that have been reimagined by Roux, according to Cunard. Initially launching aboard Queen Anne, the menu is set to roll out across the existing fleet later in 2024.

“It is an absolute privilege to be working with Cunard’s hugely talented and passionate culinary development chefs as we countdown to the launch of their newest ship Queen Anne. For me, there is no better recipe than blending high-quality ingredients with elegant execution to create unforgettable experiences for diners, and I am incredibly excited to showcase our elevated, reimagined pub classics to Cunard guests very soon”, said Michel Roux.

The news comes as Cunard also reveals four additional dining experiences that will be available on Queen Anne, including the Japanese restaurant, Aji Wa, featuring sushi and an optional omakase tasting menu for dinner; Aranya, offering Indian flavours in an interior with floor-to-ceiling windows; the surf-and-turf-style Sir Samuels, showcasing British and Australian beef and seafood; and Tramonto, a Mediterranean dining spot with an outdoor seating area.

Queen Anne’s maiden season begins in May 2024. Cunard previewed some of the guest spaces and artwork on board at an event in London in December, attended by Luxury Travel.
