The first, 14-villa Soneva Secret resort will open in the Maldives’ remote Haa Dhaalu Atoll in January 2024

Leading sustainable luxury resorts brand Soneva has announced a new, exclusive resort concept, launching in January 2024. Soneva Secret 2024 is located in the secluded Haa Dhaalu atoll in the Maldives, and according to the brand, has been decades in the making.

Promising to redefine personalised service, exceptional accommodation and pristine natural surroundings, Soneva Secret 2024 comprises just 14 beach and overwater villas, including unique lagoon Crusoe Villas, accessible only by boat, and the innovative Castaway, the Maldives’ first floating villa. Each villa seamlessly blends into its natural surroundings, offering direct access to the beach or lagoon. In addition to spacious master suites, each villa includes adjoining bedrooms to cater to families or larger groups.

Each villa will be attended to by a dedicated Barefoot Guardian and Barefoot Assistant, ensuring a customised stay and unique experiences for every guest. The resort’s 14 private chefs (one for each villa), will create tailored menus and culinary experiences to be enjoyed in-villa or amid the island’s scenic landscapes.

Soneva Secret 2024 will also offer unique dining experiences. Out of This World features a castaway dining tower, observatory and wine cellar in the lagoon, accessible via zipline. For a more grounded dining experience, So Primitive offers beachside firepit dining.

The Living Room serves as the island’s central hub, providing casual dining and lounge facilities, along with a library, boutique, and Soneva’s renowned ice cream, chocolate, cheese and charcuterie offerings.

As for the natural surroundings, Soneva Secret 2024 will offer bespoke experiences that connect guests with the scenic beauty surrounding the island. The crystal-clear waters are home to magnificent manta rays, dolphins, whale sharks and colourful tropical fish, and families can enjoy activities like picnics on secluded shores, sunset dolphin cruises, guided snorkelling led by a Marine Biologist, or stargazing under the Milky Way with the resident Astronomer.

Guests will be able to reach Soneva Secret 2024 by a 75-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport in Malé. Alternatively, guests can opt for a 40-minute seaplane flight from Soneva Fushi in the Baa Atoll, a 30-minute seaplane flight from Soneva Jani in the Noonu Atoll, or a full-day cruise from Soneva Fushi aboard Soneva in Aqua. Another option is to fly directly into Kulhudhuffushi Airport in the Haa Dhaalu Atoll and take a one-hour speedboat ride to the resort.

Soneva Secret 2024 is now accepting bookings for stays from 10 January 2024.
