The luxury lodge has launched a six-night coast-to-coast itinerary with On Board, staying aboard the luxurious Odalisque III catamaran

A new partnership between Saffire Freycinet and expedition cruise operator, On Board, offers a series of special itineraries for guests seeking to discover Tasmania’s wild and remote coastlines.

Three journeys between December 2023 and May 2024 will take travellers on a three-night expedition cruise through the island state’s southwest corner, staying aboard On Board’s new luxurious catamaran, Odalisque III, which accommodates up to 12 guests.

Three nights at Saffire Freycinet, overlooking the Hazard Mountains on the east coast will follow, with round-trip seaplane transfers providing yet another perspective of Tasmania’s beautiful landscapes. “Each coast of Tasmania is unique and none no more so than the east and west. We are thrilled to extend the Saffire experience to an area of Tasmania rarely ventured and spectacularly beautiful”, said Saffire Freycinet General Manager Patrick Barrie about the new offering.

Trip highlights include the untouched waters of Port Davey harbour, protected by a marine reserve, national park, and the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area; daily walks with local guides, and tender excursions to explore remote bays and wildlife up-close.

On the east coast, travellers will experience Saffire’s renowned hospitality with refined daily tasting menus, premium Tasmanian wines, and excursions like the property’s bee-keeping experience, oyster tastings, and a guided Connection to Country walk to learn more about First Nations heritage.

Rates for the six-night, all-inclusive journey start at $27,000 per couple. Departures are scheduled for 12–18 December 2023, 29 March–4 April 2024, and 4–10 May 2024.
