Turkish Airlines will (finally) touch down in Melbourne this weekend

Turkish Airlines will make its inaugural landing in Melbourne on the evening of 2nd March

Turkish Airlines faced a setback in its Australian expansion efforts in September 2023. However, the eagerly awaited expansion is now ready to take flight. The inaugural Australia to Istanbul service will kick off with Turkish Airlines’ first flight landing at Melbourne Airport at 8:40 pm on March 2nd. With Melbourne becoming its 346th destination and Australia its 130th country, this route represents a significant milestone for Turkish Airlines.

“Through these new services, we aim to connect Türkiye and Australia, fostering deeper connections among our people and enhancing the ties between our nations,” said Professor Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the board and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines.

The flight will take off three times per week with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in use for the airline’s Winter operation, and A350-900 for Summer.

With award-winning Business and Economy class services, lounges in Türkiye and across the globe, and an extensive array of premium features and amenities, passengers on board Turkish Airlines’ latest flight service will experience in-air and on-ground offerings.

Economy fares from Melbourne start from $1,499 return, valid for ticketing between 19th January and 15th April 2024, for travel from 15th March to 15th May 2024. Business fares from Melbourne will start from $7,599 return, for ticketing between 24th February and 15th April, for travel from 1st March to 15th May.
The Association of Airline Passenger Experience (APEX) – one of the world’s most trusted and prominent aviation organisations – awarded Turkish Airlines the Five Star Global Airline and World Class Airline, the highest award category of APEX. It was also named in the prestigious Skytrax survey as ‘Best Business Class Catering in the World’ and ‘Best Airline in Europe’.
