Chief of luxury

Botswana’s Sanctuary Chief’s Camp has reopened after a significant renovation.

Luxury property collection Sanctuary Retreats has reopened its flagship property, Sanctuary Chief’s Camp, situated in the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

The camp has 10 new pavilions, which have tripled in size from the previous camp, and a new suite – the Geoffrey Kent Luxury Suite, named for the safari pioneer of luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent (which is owned by the same holding company as Sanctuary Retreats).

Each pavilion features a private pool and outdoor seating area, as well as bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and folding glass doors.

The fully-staffed Geoffrey Kent Luxury Suite measures 620 square metres and accommodates between two to six guests with a private kitchen, private boma (fire pit) and private vehicle with its own guide.

The main lodge area has been redecorated with the inclusion of a new bar and library, a larger dining space and a deck. The camp has a new solar farm to further the use of renewable energy and minimise the impact on the surrounding environment.
