About the hotel
Located on the tree-lined Orchard Boulevard, the Singapore flagship of the Four Seasons Hotel group exudes the elegance one would expect from this legendary brand with 94 hotels in 39 countries. Located in the main shopping district, Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is an oasis for those who want to fill their days designer-brand shopping and experiencing the fast pace of this diverse city.
Unique features
Floor-to-ceiling picture windows allow a perfect view of the sunrise over the city skyline from the 18th floor. For their lowest-tiered suite, the One-Bedroom is spacious (with very high ceilings), not to mention the most comfortable king bed I’ve ever slept in. Waking up to the sounds of the metropolis is so exciting – you’re right amongst it.
Dining
Restaurant One-Ninety, under the direction of executive chef Giovanni Speciale and senior sous chef Nicolas Owen, specialises in the classics: perfectly grilled steaks, fresh seafood and a well-priced wine list. The dining area is open but intimate, inviting you to enjoy a buffet of local and international spreads before and after your mains. Don’t miss the Singapore Sling at One-Ninety Bar by Javier de la Muelas.
Spa
Open 10am-10pm every day, the Spa features Asian-influenced massages, reflexology and beauty treatments – and 100 per cent chemical-free products. Ninety-minute massages – Aroma, Balinese or The Reviver – are available at the price of a 60-minute treatment.
Highlights
Obviously believing that first impressions count, this luxury hotel provides frequent ‘wow’ moments such as: the three tiers of pink and purple hydrangeas from resident florist Linus Loh in the opulent marble foyer; the 20th-floor outdoor swimming pool (where fresh juice is delivered poolside); and the 1,500 original artworks that adorn the walls and floors.
Could do better
Fans of the latest in contemporary design may find the interiors with their classic lavish textures and features not quite to their liking.
If you’d like an upgrade
The Ambassador One-Bedroom Suite is the ultimate if you want to upgrade to a bathroom with marble furnishings, a deep soaking bathtub and a separate powder room. The suite becomes a two-bedroom with an optional connecting room, and view options include city skyline, the greenery of Orchard Boulevard or the pool.
Insider tip
Once you’ve checked out the shopping on Orchard Boulevard, jump in a cab to Marina Bay Sands for even more luxury shopping in an exclusively opulent setting – staying at the Four Seasons means you’re just a short taxi ride away – or an 11-minute walk.
