About the hotel

Rising above the streets of Kowloon – a shopper, diner or entertainment seeker’s paradise – Gateway Hotel is one of three Marco Polo hotels within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance. The hotel’s 400 guestrooms and suites were completely redesigned in 2013, making for a fresh, luxurious and contemporary interior. The Gateway sits on the junction of the lively Canton Road and Haiphong Road, a short stroll from the bus terminal, Star Ferry and MTR Subway Station. Hotel staff are professional and very friendly.

The suite experience

Suites are spacious, modern and thoughtfully designed, with hidden doors offering privacy between the lounge, bed and adjoining bathroom area. A nice touch is the Nespresso coffee maker available in every suite. Each suite also comes complete with all the Continental Club trimmings, including personal check in and check out, butler service, access to the club lounge, complimentary daily breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails with canapés.

Unique features

So integrated in to the district’s reputation for retail, The Gateway is actually housed within Harbour City, Hong Kong’s largest shopping complex. You’ll find at your fingertips an almost unbelievable range of luxury, boutique and speciality stores. Make time for some retail therapy if you can.

Dining

The Gateway’s huge dining level Three on Canton offers an extensive range of popular international cuisine served buffet-style, with a la carte options also available. The restaurant’s separate wine room and four exclusive function rooms can accommodate larger groups and pre-booked parties.

Spa & fitness

While the Gateway hotel itself has no gym facilities, those seeking a work out have access to the Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel’s outdoor swimming pool and the Prince Hotel‘s 24-hour gym. Both hotels are about a seven-minute walk through Harbour City.

Insider tip

When arriving from the airport or returning to the Gateway by car or taxi, be sure to let your driver know exactly which Marco Polo hotel you’re staying at. With three in such close proximity, it can become a little confusing.
